Topology optimization is a solver-based approach to optimization. The analysis has a load case that describe the physics that the part (or assembly) undergoes; it then uses this information to remove material from an initial design. A simple example might be a support bracket with a push load and a sideways load.

He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. His research interests include advanced composite materials and bio-composite.
